RESEARCH INTERESTS

During the entire lifetime, plants are attacked by a broad range of pathogens, being the targets of bacteria, fungi, viruses, protozoa as well as nematodes. To combat the biotic interactions, however, plants have evolved sophisticated and effective defense mechanisms. What I am interested in is of dissecting the interactions between host plants and phytopathogens, thereby providing new sight to antiviral strategy for crop protection.
